Magdalen Chapel and Cherwell Boathouse Oxford Wedding Photography
I always love to photograph in new venues around the UK. Weddings at the impressive Magdalen College Chapel in Oxford only happen a few times a year and only graduates of the college have permission to get married there. It is one of the most stunning colleges in Oxford with extensive, beautifully maintained gardens, full of courtyards and hidden corners all with a backdrop of honey coloured stone buildings. It's a college thats not open to the public, so it was a great opportunity to have a look around. we met the bride and groom, Nathan and Gabrielle, the evening before to scout out a few suitable locations. Thankfully they had built in sufficient time after their ceremony, leaving us a whole hour to wander around and capture some truly memorable images. Then it was off to Cherwell Boathouse on the edge of the river, the bride and groom arriving in a punt - clambering out of these flat bottomed boats makes for some great candid photos, thankfully Gabrielle looked dignified at all times! Cherwell Boathouse is a relaxed venue with great food and a stunning spot right next to the river. It was a great contrast to the more formal surroundings of Magdalen College Chapel. The evening drew to a close with a great dance routine from the bride and groom and I dragged myself away as the sun was setting and the party was in full swing.
